                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
              BY  COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
  1  1 A Resolution to honor Senator Eugene Fraise for over a
  1  2    quarter of a century of public service.
  1  3    WHEREAS, Eugene S. "Gene" Fraise began his political
  1  4 career on the Lee County Board of Supervisors, coming
  1  5 to the Senate by special election in 1986; and
  1  6    WHEREAS, over two decades later Senator Fraise was
  1  7 elected in 2008 to his eighth term in the Iowa Senate,
  1  8 representing Senate District 46, which includes Henry
  1  9 and Lee counties; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, Senator Fraise currently serves on a
  1 11 variety of committees, as Chair of the Judiciary
  1 12 Committee, Vice Chair of both the Appropriations and
  1 13 Ethics Committees, and as a member of the Agriculture,
  1 14 Labor and Business Relations, and State Government
  1 15 Committees, and of the Justice System Appropriations
  1 16 Subcommittee; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, Senator Fraise also serves on the Criminal
  1 18 and Juvenile Justice Planning Advisory Council, the
  1 19 Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision State
  1 20 Council, and the Public Safety Advisory Board; and
  1 21    WHEREAS, in over a quarter century of service
  1 22 Senator Fraise has also chaired the Agriculture
  1 23 Committee and has served on the Local Government
  1 24 Committee, the Natural Resources and Environment
  1 25 Committee, the Transportation Committee (Vice=Chair),
  1 26 and the  Iowa Commission on Interstate Cooperation; NOW
  1 27 THEREFORE,
  1 28    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  2  1 honors Senator Eugene S. "Gene" Fraise for a lifetime
  2  2 of public service on the state and local level, and
  2  3 upon his retirement wishes him and his wife of over 60
  2  4 years, Faye, years of happiness to come.
