  1  1          SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                        BY  HOSCH
  1  3 A Concurrent Resolution recognizing Richard and Joyce
  1  4    Lynch, the first recipients of the Good Neighbor Award
  1  5    presented by the Department of Agriculture and Land
  1  6    Stewardship.
  1  7    WHEREAS, the Good Neighbor Award is presented by
  1  8 the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship to
  1  9 Iowa livestock producers who demonstrate a high regard
  1 10 for the land and their livestock, who are devoted
  1 11 stewards of the environment, who are staunch
  1 12 supporters of their communities, and who care for the
  1 13 welfare of their neighbors; and
  1 14    WHEREAS, the first recipients of the Good Neighbor
  1 15 Award to be presented on May 1, 2003, are Richard and
  1 16 Joyce Lynch who are parents to seven children, and who
  1 17 operate a dairy and feeder cattle operation in Jones
  1 18 County near Cascade; and
  1 19    WHEREAS, Richard and Joyce Lynch, who are deserving
  1 20 of the Good Neighbor Award, who live on their land and
  1 21 within their community in a manner that exemplifies
  1 22 the finest qualities of Iowa's rural way of life, and
  1 23 who will provide a priceless legacy to their families
  1 24 and future generations; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 25    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF
  1 26 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, That the Iowa General
  1 27 Assembly recognize Richard and Joyce Lynch for their
  1 28 lifetime achievement, and congratulate them as the
  1 29 first recipients of the Good Neighbor Award presented
  1 30 by the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship;
  2  1 and
  2  2    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the
  2  3 Senate prepare an appropriate copy of this resolution
  2  4 for delivery to Richard and Joyce Lynch.
